| VICTIM ADVOCACY | SUPPORT FOR SURVIVORS | POLICE BOARD MONITORING | NATIONAL RESOURCE |
|---|
Citizens Alert provides information and assistance to victims of police abuse and harassment, makes appropriate referrals, and offers to accompany persons filing complaints.
| For families of victims of deadly force and other deaths in custody, Citizens Alert acts as a liaison with authorities, cuts through red tape, and links families together through coalition efforts.
| Voicing community concerns and citizen complaints while promoting policy changes, Citizens Alert has attended Police Board meetings since the early seventies. Accountability sessions with the Superintendent of Police are held periodically. | As one of the few police accountability groups in the nation, Citizens Alert is a consultant on law enforcement issues. It has been a resource to national civil rights organizations, numerous religious denominations, and the media. |
Citizens Alert programs and activities are coordinated and implemented by volunteers. Your participation is vital and will give you the satisfaction of being part of the solution to community problems.
